Not soft and shrinks

So I am confused by the pillow cases not fitting my king size pillows, as it suggests by the dimensions. The pillow cases fit a standard so I know it’s not from shrinking when the fitting sheet is ok, it isn’t great on a thicker mattress but it works. I washed them so I had to keep the set, but I wouldn’t recommend buying this set.
