The time was right!
I loved my Sony a9, which for clarity was the first edition of this model series. It replaced my Sony a99, that in turn was an upgrade from my a700. I am unashamedly a jpeg only shooter but wanted the benefit of the a7rv’s subject recognition features and of course, the vast step up of mega pixels. I am a great fan of Sony’s Clear Image Zoom feature, which I’m pleased is on this camera. Now that I have set my camera’s controls to mimic those that I was used to, I am delighted with my purchase, it is well worth the upgrade in every sense for the use that I will be giving this camera. And of course, it will bring great benefits from my existing FE and E mount lenses.

Refreshed and renewed
Upgraded from a 7R3 - a very good camera in itself but I really feel the 7RV is much improved in all areas. It's refreshed and renewed my love of photography and makes more possible some of the photos I want to create.

Just over a year
I have had this camera just over a year and already having trouble with the auto focus not working at all, having too turn the camera on and off several times also not very sharp pictures under 400th of a second. Now looking at sending it off to Sony to have it looked at. Not sure if it is an issue with my camera but never been overly impressed from the start.

so far this camera has been amazing to use for my concert photography. fast,light and has great features

Great camera but lacking an essential feature.
Excellent cropping capability but held back by a lack of auto-subject detection. Manually changing results in missing shots.
