The ROCKY Code Red: Wildlands 77 is made for Wildland Firefighting. This boot is NFPA 1977 certified and has fire resistant full grain flesh out leather, laces, and stitching. The sidewall stitch construction offers better resistance against wear and tear preventing the Vibram fire and ice jungle outsole from separating from the upper. Inside this boot, the fiberglass shank helps to relieve your foot of ache-inducing impact and our ROCKY Air-Port Comfort footbed provides cushioning. Built in unisex sizing, this is the perfect boot for all Wildland firefighters..

Ok boots can be better

Rating: 3.5 / 5 Stars Review: Right out of the box, the Wildland 77s are insanely comfortable. The insoles are absolute money, and when they aren't laced tight for actual work, they feel great. But when it’s time to head out on an IA, I need to cinch my boots down hard, get reliable ankle support, and never think about them again. That’s where these hit a few snags. The biggest issue is the metal eyelet right over the ankle bone. Cinched down, it dug in so hard it felt like it was piercing my skin, forcing me to stop and readjust six different times on one shift. I finally skipped that eyelet altogether to stop the pain, but doing that caused the boot tongue to warp the wrong way and gave up some of the ankle support I needed. A bit more structural ankle support overall would really take these to the next level. What makes it frustrating is that I also bought a pair of Rocky S2Vs, and their eyelet design and ankle comfort are far superior—they don't dig in at all, and those aren't even dedicated wildland boots. If Rocky keeps these killer insoles, adds a touch more ankle support, and fixes that ankle eyelet/tongue setup, these will easily be a top-tier boot for line work. They are just a couple of tweaks away from being perfect.

Comfy... I like 'em!

Have really only begun breaking these in, but so far they are a comfortable boot. I think they will serve me well on fires this season.

Solid budget boot

Boots are true to size, comfortable, require little to no break-in, have good tread. Looking forward to seeing how they hold up for the fire season.

Great fit

Amazing boots for the fire line, I wore these boots out and about twice for a total of 3 hours and then used them on the fire line during a 12-hour fire. They fit amazing, much like my SV2s, no heat on the line, great grip, and very light. I would highly recommend these to any wildland firefighter looking for a great fit.

REMOVE THE LACE EYELET.

PLEASE REMOVE THE LACE LOCKING EYLET.

The boots fine but PLEASE PLEASE get rid of the lace lock eyelet. Makes sense on paper. But it gets gunked up with dirt and it makes it impossible to take these boots off end of shift. I'm going to have to try to fix it with a drill bit.
