MecalePortable Basketball Hoop, Adjustable Height with Wheels

The first hoop a child owns has a short life if the rim starts too high. Here it starts at 3 feet, which is low enough for a toddler to score two-handed, and that early success is what keeps the ball coming back out. As height and confidence build, the rim climbs to 4.8 feet, then fitting the middle tube takes the range to 6.9 feet. The backboard is shatterproof at 30 by 19.5 inches, mounted to a waterproof steel pole so the system can stay outdoors between games. Ballast is flexible: 55 pounds of water for a quick setup, 77 pounds of sand for a hoop that stays put, or 88 pounds of both when play gets physical. The system carries ASTM and CPSIA certification. Practical details decide whether a hoop gets used. Built-in wheels let one adult tilt and roll the 18.5 pound frame out of the way when the driveway is needed, and a moulded ball rest on the base stops the ball rolling toward the road while everyone is inside. Adult assembly is required, the base must be filled before play, and younger players should be supervised.
