Wonderful Game!!
This is a card drafting game that is very easy to learn, quick to play, while still allowing for a player to plan and strategize how to best win. This has quickly become a favorite game in our house. My wife and I have played this with friends, family, and some nights just each other. I feel like this is a must have game for anyone who is enthusiastic about board games. We actually featured this in an episode of our podcast that is all about board games. We take a close look at this game to help our audience decide if this is the right board game for them. A classy game with great components!
The game at its core is very simple but trying to play optimally still has depth which makes it easy to play but hard(ish) to master best played casually. Very easy to set up, fast to start and rounds that can end quickly add to the replayability. Splendor is deceptively easy to learn and plays fairly quickly - if people are paying attention. Paying attention is key, because everyone’s cards/tokens are available for all to see at all times. Whenever I want to relax and play a game with new gamers, Splendor is one of my first choices. It’s quick enough that we can easily fit in a game or two, yet has enough strategy to make it an enjoyable game to come back to again and again.
