She has a devilish new movie out now, and you’ve seen her work on famous on-screen icons. Emmy-winning costume designer Molly Rogers brings her signature style to Macy’s very own On 34th in this Macy’s Exclusive collection. “This collection is very New York and Macy’s is New York to me,” Rogers says.

Inspired by the streets of NYC, the collection reimagines the most popular looks from Rogers’ acclaimed career. From cerulean blue-sole pumps (Rogers loves a bold pop of color) to multi-pocket cargo jeans (she is also a fan of pockets), each piece is as photo-worthy as it is functional. True to Rogers’ mantra, “The street is my runway,” they are infused with cinematic energy.

"Molly’s expertise in modern costume design, combined with her devotion to the vibrant New York City scene, makes her an ideal match for On 34th.” says Macy’s buyer Lindsay Kline. “The On 34th brand is designed for and with women. It's a brand where modern classic style meets real life, featuring reliable, versatile pieces with just enough wow to help our customer escape the ordinary and run her world with confidence and joy.”

Woman in pinstripe suit

The collection is filled with looks that convey main character energy. Take for example the gray pinstripe pantsuit. Featuring a padded shoulder blazer, an asymmetric one-shoulder top and balloon capri pants, it delivers effortless glamour and will look just as good crossing the streets of the city on the way to happy hour as it will in a boardroom. Striking the balance between structured polish and relaxed ease, it is imbued with a menswear-meets-street-style sensibility. “I’m really into feminine menswear,” Rogers says.

Similarly, the bright blue duster coat (which nods to the iconic cerulean sweater) is designed to turn heads, especially when styled with a subway map-printed set or—as Rogers likes it—with jeans and a t-shirt. As she says, “You cannot beat a duster coat on a man or a woman when they are running down the subway or getting into their car. I love when they have so much color.”

A standout feature of the collection is its embrace of cheerful motifs and prints that nod to NYC living. The subway map set is a compliment magnet with an eye-catching print every New Yorker will recognize. If you’re looking to show off your love of the city, the “New York” printed tank and crewneck will make your affiliation clear while serving as casual daytime wear. And as for NYC’s ubiquitous pigeon, which Rogers calls the mascot of New York? The iconic bird is fashioned as a key chain to add personality to your daily carry-all. How quintessentially New York? The capsule turns memories and experiences of the city into tangible style tokens made to be cherished.

True to On 34th, practical glamour underlies the entire collection, and this extends to the accessories which are just as noteworthy. Cerulean blue-sole pumps anyone? NYC landmark keychains or an illustrated tote? These design elements bring something unique to every accessory, making them something truly worth having. They not only enhance any look in the collection, but they also serve as souvenirs or tokens of your love of NYC. “Chic, approachable and still New York,” in Rogers’ words.
